MONDAY 6TH AUGUST 2004 -- VANCOUVER

Sun Princess let go her mooring lines at 17:38. At 23:25 Sun Princess rounded Cape Mudge entered Discovery Passage.

TUESDAY 7TH AUGUST 2004AT SEA

Shortly after midnight Sun Princess transited Seymour Narrows.  Throughout the night Sun Princess continued North Westwards passing Johnstone Strait. Shortly after 8:00 Sun Princess entered into Queen Charlotte Sound with a West Northwesterly course.

Throughout the afternoon Sun Princess continued across Queen Charlotte Sound. At 13:55 Sun Princess passed Me Innes Island on the starboard side, entering Hecate Strait. By 23:05 she was passing Bonilla Island on the starboard side and with a Northerly course she continued sailing towards Ketchikan.

 

WEDNESDAY 8TH AUGUST 2004KETCHIKAN (Alaska)

 

During the early hours of the morning Sun Princess entered Alaskan waters and rounded Coronation Island entering Chatham Strait.  At 05:57 Sun Princess was securely moored, starboard side to, in Ketchikan.

At 14:08 Sun Princess let go her mooring lines and continued northwards completing her transit of the Tongass Narrows. At 18:40 she transited Snow Passage and by 21:36 was abeam of Cape Decision at a distance of 0.54 nautical miles where she altered her course and entered Chatham Strait.

 

THURSDAY 9TH AUGUST 2004 – JUNEAU

At 00:45 Sun Princess entered into Frederick Sound. In the early hours she passed between Point Pybus and the Brothers Islands, entering Stephens Passage. At 05:30 she started her final approach to Juneau. Just after 06:19 Sun Princess was securely moored portside alongside to the South Franklin Dock in Juneau.

FRIDAY 10TH AUGUST 2004SKAGWAY

We continued on our northerly heading during the early hours of the morning as we transited the Lynn Canal, passing EldredRock Lighthouse. Here the fjord forks in two. Sun Princess took the passage to the right leading us into Chilkoot Inlet and then finally Taiya Inlet as we made our final approaches to Skagway. At 05:38 Sun Princess turned in the basin and backed onto her berth. By 06:00 we were securely moored at the Rail Road Dock in Skagway.

With alI pre departure checks satisfactorily completed Sun Princess let go her mooring lines. Retracing her courses south through the various inlets and the Lynn Canal.

 

SATURDAY 11TH AUGUST 2004GLACIER BAY

Sun Princess rounded Rocky Island and entered into Icy Strait making her approaches to Bartlett Cove. At 09:52 Sun Princess entered Johns Hopkins Inlet stopping off the glacier at 10:30.

At 12:49 Sun Princess the ship stopped at the head of Glacier Bay 0.3 nautical mi les off Margerie Glacier and 0.7 nautical miles from The Grand Pacific Glacier, taking in the grandeur of Glacier Bay a slow swing to starboard was made and we retraced our tracks to Bartlett Cove. At 16:47 Sun Princess returned to Bartlett Cove. Later we rounded Cape

Spencer and entered into the Gulf of Alaska, passing the Fairweather

Range and setting a West/Northwesterly course toward College Fjord

 

SUNDAY 12TH AUGUST 2004 – COLLEGE FJORD

During the night Sun Princess continued to sail across the Gulf of Alaska. At 11:30 she rounded Cape Hinchinbrook, on her starboard side, at a distance of 1.68 nautical miles and entered into Prince William Sound with a Northerly course.

Around 13:45 Sun Princess passed abeam of Esther Rock and then entered Port Wells, she entered into College Fjord mid afternoon as she passed Coghill Point abeam to starboard. Around 19:30 Sun Princess left College Fjord and proceeded with various course towards Whittier. At 22:30 Sun Princess entered into Passage Canal following westerly courses.

 

MONDAY 13TH AUGUST 2004 – WHITTIER

Around 00:30 Sun Princess was securely moored alongside on Cruise Terminal in Whittier.
