28 Dec – Returned to Buenos Aires for an overnight stay – and as it turns out another riot!

29 Dec – Fly to Bariloche

We had great views of volcanoes on the flight to Bariloche where we stayed in a fantastic resort nestled on a hill between the lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno. Built in 1938, the hotel is an architectural masterpiece and is recognized as a National Historic Landmark.  From the hotel we did a couple very good hikes and saw our first condors – they flew so close we could easily distinguish the juveniles from the adults and see the beautiful white plumage.
