You've probably heard us talk about the Maldives.  We went there for our honeymoon, and keep returning ... though we try to choose a new island with each visit.  This is not everybody's destination.  Each island hosts just a single hotel, so there's not a lot of variety.  We could around this island in under 10 minutes, and that's stopping to view a dolphin passing, turn over a shell, and admire the flowers. We take a stack of books, lots of sun cream, and our flippers.  Snorkeling is fantastic ... it's like swimming in a very well stocked aquarium.  We've been to the Maldives 5 times, snorkel twice a day, and each time out we see something new.  Unfortunately, our digital camera doesn't go underwater, so you'll just have to take our word for it!  We stay 2 weeks, and the time just flies.
