Rocky Mountains   Our first hiking was in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, where we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the long scenic drives from Denver and back again.    Follow this link to view descriptions of the hikes and our photos.

Salt Lake City   While staying in Salt Lake, we did two days of hiking in the nearby canyons.  Follow this link to view descriptions of the hikes and our photos.

Capitol Reef  We found a great bed-and-breakfast just outside the national park.   We did a couple of shorter hikes and a more challenging one.  Follow this link to view descriptions of the hikes and our photos.

Escalante  This is more a destination for back-packers and people with 4-wheel-drive vehicles,  but we did a very pretty hike in the Calf Creek recreation area.  We also visited Kodachrome Basin before moving on to Bryce.  Follow this link for more.

Bryce  We stayed at the Bryce Lodge for 3 nights and did most of the day hikes in the park.  We had to abort the last hike to run away from a fast-approaching thunderstorm.  Follow this link to view descriptions of the hikes and our photos.
